Add Orb to your Squarespace site

This guide will walk you through adding the Orb chat widget to your Squarespace website.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Copy your unique widget code

Log in to your Chatbeam dashboard and navigate to the Agent section. Under the Chat Widget tab, you'll find your unique embed code that looks like this:

Use the copy button to copy this code to your clipboard.

Step 2: Access your Squarespace settings

Log in to your Squarespace account and navigate to the website you want to add Orb to.

Step 3: Open Advanced settings

1. Click on Settings in the left sidebar
2. Scroll down and click on Advanced
3. Select Code Injection

Step 4: Add the code to the Header or Footer

In the Header or Footer (recommended) section of the Code Injection page, paste your Orb widget code:

Step 5: Save your changes

Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Verifying the Installation

After saving your changes, visit your Squarespace website in a new browser tab or window. You should see the Orb chat bubble appear in the corner of your website.

Click on it to verify that it opens properly and displays your welcome message.

Troubleshooting

Widget not appearing?

• Make sure you've pasted the complete code snippet in the Footer section
• Try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page
• Verify that your widget is set to "active" in your Chatbeam dashboard
• Check if your Squarespace theme has any conflicts with the widget code

Using Squarespace version 7.0?

If you're using Squarespace version 7.0 (older version), the steps are slightly different:

1. Click on Settings in the left sidebar
2. Click on Advanced and then Code Injection
3. Paste your Orb widget code into the Footer field
4. Click Save

Additional Customization

You can customize your Orb widget appearance and behavior in the Chatbeam dashboard:

• Change the chat bubble color to match your brand
• Customize the welcome message
• Add suggested questions to guide your visitors
• Set visibility rules to hide the widget on specific pages

All these changes will automatically apply to your Squarespace site without needing to update the code again.
